I think Paul and Elmer are long-term on AMD, right? However, I'm short-term in AMD, so I'll be out faster than the drive-by posters, but trading isn't quite my style, so what do the traders suggest?

Amy J,

Drive-by or no drive-by, I would not be such a hurry to jump out. There is a possibility that AMD will become a strong competitor to Intel much like XLNX is to ALTR; competitors that coexist quietly and comfortably with each other.....I know, I know....AMD and Intel? LOL

Its to early for me to make AMD a long term, core position in my portfolio...however, I am closely watching how AMD performs further out with that intent in mind. It is clearer to me that this is not a flash in the pan...that AMD has been planning for this moment in time for quite a while but like all good things, it needed all that time and only began to jell last year.

I know its hard for a long time Intel long to believe such a prognosis for AMD, let alone feel comfortable with it. But the Net, the new millenium, the new economy, etc are creating incredible opportunities and amazing transformations.....the new AMD may just be one of them.

Just my opinion.
