I happened to be sitting at brunch today next to a tech consultant/angel, and naturally enough spent most of the time chatting about tech stocks (while tekgirl and the other ladies rolled their eyes and had an entirely separate conversation). Among the interesting comments he made (having known Iacobucci for years, he wasn't surprised at all about the Citrus debacle; he was bullish on Siebel but wanted to see much more from them vis-a-vis an internet strategy) was one about Moore. He said that he thought GM was a pompous ass who was following trends as much as predicting them, and that the internal workings of Chasm Group were so far from what they were supposed to be (according to the book's principles) as to make one quite skeptical.

It was interesting to discuss familiar companies from a nonfamiliar (i.e., non-GG) perspective...
