Yep, all they had to do was ask the opinion of the cypherpunks or the sci.crypt newsgroup, and they would have gotten a lot of free advice and saved themselves a bundle.

Close, but no cigar on Attalla. The "A" was for Adleman. RSA in total was Ron Rivest- Adi Shamir-Leonard Adleman.

There was a company called Attalla at one point that made encryption boards. It must be the same guy. Attalla was acquired by another company, but I can't quite remember which one. Tandem maybe? I don't know...for some reason that rings a bell.

Tiger pulled it off...again! It's so much fun to watch him work. And May put up one heckuva battle. It was sportsmanship at its best.
