Makes Fortune Fast Growth List

ResMed Inc (ASX: RMD) announced today that it has again been
included in FORTUNE Magazine's annual list of the 100 Fastest Growing
Companies in the US. This is the second consecutive year that
ResMed has been included in the list, which evaluates companies on
profit and revenue growth over the past three years as well as stock
market returns. Peter C Farrell, Ph D ResMed's Founder, Chairman and
CEO, stated: "We are delighted to have again been included on
FORTUNE'S list. It speaks well of both ResMed and the growing
importance of sleep-disordered breathing."

The Company also announced that Dr Farrell, along with the Chairman
of ResMed's Medical Advisory Board, Professor Colin Sullivan, have
jointly been awarded the Year 2000 KL Sutherland Memorial Medal for
the invention, development and commercialization of nasal Continuous
Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) for the treatment of obstructive
sleep apnea. Professor Sullivan, from the University of Sydney, was
the inventor of nasal CPAP therapy in the early 1980s and ResMed,
under the leadership of Dr Farrell, has successfully developed
innovative products, based on Colin Sullivan's invention, which are
now sold in over 50 countries. The KL Sutherland Memorial Medal is
awarded biennially, for achievement in the application of science for
the benefit of the community, by the Australian Industrial Research
Group, The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the
Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.

Finally, the Company announced that Dr Farrell has accepted an
invitation to serve as Vice-Chair of the Executive Council of the
Division of Sleep Medicine of the Harvard Medical School. Dr Farrell
commented: "I am pleased to have been invited to work with a
first-class group of individuals at Harvard Medical School with the
goal of cementing a place for the study of sleep disorders within the
medical field.
