Good Morning Thread,

Couple of questions to inspire groupthink;

While listening to the Motley Fool Radio show over the weekend, there was an interesting interview with a technology forecaster. The 2 basic ideas he was discussing were quite interesting.

The forecaster (sorry, forgot his name) spoke about the future of the Internet. His future model shows that less than 5% of all Internet traffic will be people accessing information or other people. The other 95% of traffic will come from machines (devices) accessing other machines. I am quite sure that at least 1 CEO from our current G&K list, stated basically the same numbers.

The forecaster also mentioned biotech as his area where the most change will occur (not the first person to say that, I am well aware.)

1. Is it way to early to be on Tornado watch for companies that will prosper from this trend? I understand how CSCO, EMC, NTAP et al, will grow as the total internet grows, but I am referring specifically to this aspect of growth on the internet.
(UW, is this where ELON fits in?)

I know in the past we have specifically stayed away from the biotech arena for various reasons such as lack of understanding the market in general and the ability to determine if it is a royalty game or if a true Gorilla can emerge. Every time I turn around I am hearing biotech this biotech that, biotech biotech biotech…….just like I heard fiber fiber fiber.

2. Should we from time to time look at the biotech revolution to see if a Gorilla can/will come about? The inability to spot a tornado could be our very own barrier to entry.
