Jaws, interesting comment "alot of people here in South Florida knew that they were not going to make their earnings" If you wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate more discussion along this line. I'm in the middle of Silicon Valley and we just inevitably here 'things'. To be frank, I was concerned about investing in a South Florida company because a) I was afraid I wouldn't 'hear things', and b) I was afraid that the technical talent just couldn't possibly be up to par with other areas around the US.
I then convinced myself that a) given the amount of research I do in combination with the security analysts I read and the research they do, it was absurd to rule out an area on geography alone, and b) I was hopelessly parochial and prejudiced re: Silicon Valley or Boston or Austin or whatever.
Well, now that I've had my butt handed to me on a multiple six figure platter, I'm unlikely to visit South Florida even to tee it up. What kind of things were floating in the air and how could security analysts paid three trillion per year miss them? Or did they use the info in other ways? A disaster of this magnitude absolutely, positively had to be known in advance by lots of people, a ton of people. I am intent on using this train wreck as an object lesson in how not to invest--which is likely the only thing I'll be able to salvage. Thanks in advance. Mike Doyle
