announced today the launch of a groundbreaking Internet multi-media program, entitled "La Voz
Gigante de Orlando Cepeda." For the first time in history, the weekly on-line program will enable
Spanish-speaking fans from around the world to have direct and on-demand access to their favorite
Spanish-speaking players by logging on to starmedia.com .

"La Voz Gigante" represents a unique first in virtual programming, as the online series features Major
League Baseball's Latino stars in conversations with Orlando, and allows users to view skills

Orlando Cepeda, the seven-time all star and a native of Puerto Rico, launches "La Voz Gigante de
Orlando Cepeda" with a live chat from StarMedia Network's San Francisco Broadband studio on
Monday, August 21st at 7:15 p.m. EST. The program's first episode premieres on Tuesday, August
22 at 3:00 p.m. EST with host Cepeda introducing the series.

has increased dramatically over the last decade. At the start of the 2000
season, there were approximately 170 players from Latin America which

About Orlando Cepeda

Orlando Cepeda, "The Baby Bull" (Son of legendary Puerto Rican star Perucho "The Bull" Cepeda),
arrived to the Major Leagues in 1958. Cepeda won Rookie of the Year in 1958 for the San Francisco
Giants for whom he played until 1966 when he joined the St. Louis Cardinals. Nicknamed "Cha-Cha"
in St. Louis because of his love of salsa music, he became the 1967 MVP by hitting .325 and driving in
111 RBIs. After leading the Cardinals to a pennant in 1967, they went on to become world champions
by beating the Boston Red Sox in a 7-game series. Cepeda appeared in three World Series, was a
seven-time All-Star (1959-64, 67) and was the National League MVP in 1967 with the St. Louis
Cardinals. In March of 1999, Cepeda was elected to the Hall of Fame. Orlando Cepeda joins the late
Roberto Clemente as the only Puerto Ricans in the Hall of Fame.
