Go2Net Also to Distribute MetaCrawler Search Technology Through ZDTV.com

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- ZDTV, the on-air and online network
dedicated to the digital lifestyle, today announced a content and technology
distribution agreement with Go2Net (NASDAQ:GNET), one of the Internet's
leading providers of applications and infrastructure technologies for both
narrowband and broadband devices. Under the agreement, ZDTV will become the
primary content provider in the technology category for the Go2Net Network,
which attracts more than 12 million unique users per month (Media Metrix, June
2000), and will also be distributed through Go2Net's broadband and wireless
distribution platforms.
As an additional part of the agreement, Go2Net's MetaCrawler will become
the exclusive Internet search technology on ZDTV.com, enabling ZDTV.com's more
than 750,000 unique users per month to search the Internet using Go2Net's
metasearch technology.
As the primary technology content provider, ZDTV will deliver a broad
range of multimedia streaming content, which will enable Go2Net to meet
consumer demand for both narrowband and broadband Internet programming. The
ZDTV packages will reflect a wide range of technology topics, including news
and product reviews, tech stocks and tech support.
"This strategic alliance creates a great opportunity for ZDTV to deliver
our multimedia in-depth technology content through Go2Net's narrowband and
broadband distribution platforms," said Joe Gillespie, Executive Vice
President and COO of ZDTV. "We are delighted to provide Go2Net with the
resources it needs to make its technology offerings as appealing as any on the
Internet."
"We look forward to adding ZDTV content to our broadband offerings and to
delivering our MetaCrawler search technology through ZDTV's Web site," said
Russell C. Horowitz, Go2Net Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "This
agreement will become even more important as we accelerate our broadband and
wireless distribution."
In a related release, ZDTV also announced today that it will create a new
brand identity for the network and has renamed the company techtv.
