The hard part was trying to convince her that stocks do not always just go up. She got to see some of it as it dropped from $160 to a recent low of $44, but it did not seem to sink in nearly as much as the ride up. BTW, aside from paying from her college, she got a couple $K towards a car -- but I still made her invest her own money in the car, or at least two-thirds of it. I want her to understand and believe that her money is more valuable than mine and her most valuable possessions (aside from sentimental ones) are and will be those she has worked to earn herself. So far, she has been a pretty good learner: but, a little luck never hurts either. Troy
