Ted, According to the article that was put out by the AP yesterday, this is the first time that water can be seen at the North Pole in 50 million years. It seems that every time the information is re-transmitted, some degree of "fidelity" gets lost. This is what the the original said: The last time scientists can be certain the pole was awash in water was more than 50 million years ago. This means that there could have been water there 100, 200, 300, 1,000 etc. years ago, but that can't be certain. What they can be certain of is that there was water there 50 million years ago. Joe
