Crystal Springs Water Taps Into Wireless with Cross Communications HipLink Messaging System to Connect Delivery Force
Monday August 21, 7:21 am Eastern Time
DOWNER'S GROVE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 21, 2000--Cross Communications, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Datalink.net (Nasdaq:XLNK - news), today announced that it will provide and support its industry leading HipLink wireless messaging software to Crystal Springs Water of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The new system, working in conjunction with Web-enabled cellular phones, will allow the Crystal Springs' delivery force to receive and respond to customer order information more efficiently.
Crystal Springs, a bottled water market leader in Florida, chose the HipLink system to meet its objective of enhancing customer satisfaction. Previously, Crystal Springs relied upon a voicemail system that was not as responsive or timely for last minute customer requests. With HipLink, customer orders and directions flow instantly as text, so that drivers can respond to water orders as they service their routes. Additionally a service escalation system has been created so that orders will remain in a database until they are fulfilled.
``Making the jump to wireless was another technological step we felt necessary to improve customer service by converting our customer communications network to a real-time basis,'' said Chris White, area vice president for Crystal Springs Water in Florida.
White notes that Cross Communications quickly installed a completely integrated enterprise wireless system that will make the process more user friendly for Crystal Springs' route sales force. In addition, Cross Communications will customize the interface to Crystal Springs' mainframe software and provide service and support for the technology with an expected ramp-up of only 5 days.
``Businesses are demanding instant communications with the use of wireless technology and our partnerships with device manufacturers makes it a reality,'' said Kim Wold, president of Cross Communications. ``Crystal Springs presents an ideal opportunity for us to demonstrate the smooth integration, installation and high reliability of the HipLink system, and we look forward to supporting their needs as the benefits of wireless unfold across their enterprise.''
