My first car was a 64 Biscayne with a 6-cylinder and 3 on the tree. Used to do burnouts in it the same way. Frequently. The best ones were when I'd get it going backwards at a good clip downhill, shift into first, mash the throttle while the valves floated and sidestep the clutch, burning rubber while barely moving back uphill.

To this day, I'm amazed at the abuse that car tolerated with nary a complaint until the day it croaked for good.

A ritual around here is to do burnouts with the Mustang whenever I've got racing tires that are no longer suitable for the track.

The best burnouts are always the ones where you know you're taking the tires off as soon as you get home. Even better when they're super-sticky Hoosiers. :)
