President Carter is indeed a good man. When I was in high school, my church group went to Plains, GA (his hometown) and he joined us in a softball game, then invited us to his church where I got to sing a solo for him. He was approachable and highly likable. I had, and still have, enormous respect for him, in spite of the beatings his presidential legacy has taken. He was unfortunate to have found himself in a difficult term. (Is it possible for a president to have too much conscience for his own good? Maybe.Really? Sad if so.)

My new studio is located just down the street from his library on Freedom Parkway, and I've witnessed the regularity of the summits and conferences hosted there. I'll bet there's more good being done there in the name of peace and humanitarianism than all the work of the other former presidents combined. Not to mention the excellent work he's done for Habitat for Humanity.
