Ten, Intel investors, Dan Niles was interviewed on CNBC a few minutes ago. When asked if P4 was going to be a blowout processor for Intel:

- Niles didn't say much about that (think he said something about 2001) but said the remaining 2 Qs would be blowouts (something like that) because PIII is selling extremely well.

- Back to school PC buying start has been great. Xmas should be even better.

- 2001 could be even better still for Intel.

- Intel suffered a little recently because of Dell's less than stellar Q, guilt by association, but folks have figured out since that it was a Dell thing, not an Intel one.

- Intel 35% Asia now (??), that's a big kicker. Dell less than half Asia.

- PC market is not "dead". In fact, he completely disagrees with anyone feeling that way. 2001 -2002 could be the best years for PC stocks since '96 - '97. He likes MU as #1 (memory shortage), Intel a close second, Compaq third. Likes Compaq because they have 30% of the server market (Intel based I'd think he means).

No mention of AMD. CNBC interviewer didn't ask, and Niles didn't volunteer.
