slacker- Thanks for the info.

Now I find myself suddenly swinging the other way in disbelief. That is a LOT of ISDN lines if indeed there are 7 million household(not business) ISDN lines installed. And that brings up another question. I wonder how many ISDN lines are currently installed in the US? I forgot about ISDN with all the ADSL excitement.

I can't even recall how much the average Internet access charges are in Japan. I'm drawing a blank on a pretty big market. I recall not too long ago reading and posting....oh I did not post and threw out the articles. I wish I had them to quote from now.

As I think about it, I'm pretty much drawing a blank on the entire Japanese stats about computer penetration, local phone charges(wired and wireless), ISP charges, etc. I don't really run across too much about this topic for a fully developed nation of over 100 million people.

Japan must be looking over towards Korea and really wondering what went wrong considering how fast Korea developed their telecom infrastructure. I'm guessing(pure speculation) in a nutshell the Japanese problem can be summed up easily in two words-- NTT. Government. -MikeM(From Florida)
