Ed,...will volume now jump to over 10 million shares a day...

Theoretically yes it will, but it is hard to generalize about the post-split volume levels. Several of the stocks that I've owned over the years have traded at split-adjusted volume levels immediately after the split, but their volumes seem to decline to 70-90% post-split levels after a few weeks or months.

MOT, OTOH, seems to be trading at greater than its split-adjusted levels, but other factors related to the current conditions in the wireless industry may be at work here.

Regards,
Dave

[EDIT: I don't track daily trading volumes for long periods, but I do have data for weekly volumes of selected OTC and NYSE semiconductor stocks for the past decade. It is that data that I used in my generalizations.]
