El, I learned that demand out stripping supply is good news, not bad news the hard way in about 1994. AOL was being sued for slow service, while building out their system as fast as they could build it. I told my exbroker I thought it would be a good idea to buy a 1,000 shares of AOL at $24. He said noooo, it's not a good idea. AOL has alll sorts of problems. Slow service, law suits, slow build out, net company, and the Internet might be a passing fancy.
How wrong was he? How stupid was I to listen to him? So when I heard parts shortage this morning, I thought, good for us!! You only have part shortages when your sales are good. AOL's huge sales created a build out problem, slow service, and generated stupid law suits. I hope CPQ is selling a lot of kool products and creating a parts shortage and other related problems. A big backlog would be a nice problem. NW |
