thereby leaving the brains of future generations programmed to find a purpose. It was their mortality fears that programmed them (future generations) to find a purpose? Or their solution to those fears? Well, OK: I can see that you have been careful by using the word "leaving"; So the programming was not enhanced or created by the previous solution, but it was pre-existing... So if those that find a reason to live reproduce...this will leave a programmed teleology in some subsequent generation? By what mechanism?
