chic, Suppose you are correct, and a major market correction will in fact take place that has a serious effect on the economy as a whole. Wouldn't you rather have a person who you have confidence in to be in charge during the critical time? An honorable person would act as Hoover did. Hoover was willing to do what was right, even if it didn't appeal to the masses, and he was willing to pay the price of not being re-elected. Who says a sitting president has to run for re-elction?
