This is fairly big news in that it continues to confirm the trend of delays. I think there may be more truth to Carl's comment, "If they delay it long enough, they'll deliver it with DDR" than the Rambus-heads here would care to consider.

Perhaps Intel realizes that with Rambus memory still so expensive (money for nothing) they will be limited to an extremely small niche if they do force a launch (of an obviously unready product) with only Rambus compatibility. So why not just give it another six months, by which time it may actually be ready for release w/o a slew of bugs or whatnot, and by which time the annoying Rambus limitation will be out of the way as well. Sounds like a plan.

But then there's still that pesky AMD thing to worry about...

LOL.
