What so many are missing is that NAS is not the disruptive technology. Dis-integration of the file system (Windows/CIFS; UNIX/NFS) by WAFL is the disruption. Some of these oversimplified explanations of NAS ("like the G: drive in a network") ("uses the office LAN") are true, but completely miss NTAP's real advantage.
