Circuit City Selects Quintus To Power Customer Interactions; Electronics Superstore Makes eContact the Standard for High Volume Consumer Relations

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2000--Quintus Corporation (NASDAQ:QNTS), a provider of contact center solutions for e-customer relationship management (eCRM), today announced that Circuit City has chosen the Quintus eContact Suite(TM) for its consumer relations contact centers. Quintus' customer interaction software will be deployed as the standard for consumer relations and e-commerce communications at Circuit City.

"Circuit City serves its customers not only in our retail stores, but also through phone, email and Web site interaction. In the near future, we'll be adding wireless communications as well," said Dennis Bowman, CIO, Circuit City. "The flexibility and scalability of Quintus eContact to support all these communication channels will help us take customer service to a new level."

Quintus eContact allows contact centers to effectively manage and route customer interaction through a wide range of media, including voice, voice over IP (Internet protocol), interactive voice response, facsimile and imaging, email and the Internet. In addition, eContact records and stores details of each customer interaction in a common data repository, enabling agents to provide personalized service based on each customer's actual history. Circuit City will use eContact to manage customer interactions generated from both its e-commerce Web site and retail stores--whether it be email correspondence, Web interaction or telephone calls.

"Successful brick-and-mortar companies have always recognized the importance of reliable customer service," remarked Alan Anderson, CEO of Quintus. "As they expand their customer service, sales and marketing channels to include the Web, email and ultimately wireless, Circuit City's need for consistent, responsive, quality communications becomes even more magnified. Circuit City recognizes the strong correlation between customer service and financial success both on and off-line. Quintus is very excited to support these efforts."
