I attribute that to NT working with JDSU which will help the merger along.

Agreed. I would add that these talks between the two companies tells the market how important JDSU is as a supplier to this industry. NT's concerns indicate how dominant JDSU is becoming in this emerging industry. NT wants to secure a good supply agreement as newer and newer companies look to JDSU as a supplier----this is the sort of thing that makes people very bullish on JDSU. Even if NT increases production of the components it needs, JDSU will still have lots of other customers.

Maybe this is NT's stategic plan. They want to tie up JDSU production with a big supply agreement so that upstarts will have a hard time getting access to JDSU/SDLI's components. I certainly have been buying stock in the last little while . I am very bullish on both companies and think a deal will be beneficial to both.

I also think the Furukawa is not going to be an aggressive seller of its holdings in JDSU stock as the market often fears.
