I doubt that most people who will vote for Bush because Gore has a Jewish running mate would have voted for Gore in the first
place. The choice showed a lot of courage, and revealed a capacity for risk-taking that I thought Gore completely lacked.

There are anti-semites on the left as well as the right. Also if he isn't losing votes (because the people that would not vote for a Jewish running mate would not vote for Gore anyway according to you), then how is it showing courage.

What would impress me more then some one picking a Jewish running mate would be some one picking a Jewish running mate and no one making a big deal about it.
