There is absolutely no reason to nationalize health care. If the government wants to provide free clinics, as it does in some instances, as for immunization, that is fine. Additionally, it makes sense to provide tax sheltered accounts with a roll- over for ordinary medical expenses, and/or a subsidized system of credit for ordinary needs, keeping interest rates down by writing off defaults. (Why medical services should be prepaid beats me). Plus, encouraging the development of cheap catastrophic care policies, with very high deductibles, so that hospitalization is insured for less affluent Americans, makes sense. In other words, there are all sorts of ways to help the poor or the borderline wage earner without upsetting the whole system........
