Matthias, why would anyone want to daytrade the European bourses in the first place? Those issues that are liquid don't move and stuff that does move is absolutely illiquid (e.g. Neuer Markt).

I used to play EPC every once in a while for overnight arbitrage opportunities before they extended trading hours in Frankfurt. I always thought the thin nature of that stock was due to the majority of trading taking place in Germany until one day I decided to check the volume in Frankfurt. Turns out that it seems to be just as thin over there despite a respectable float and that stock is even part of the DAX 30.
