imo, tyson being fined for his comments about eating lennox lewis' children is dumb. otoh, tyson NOT being fined HEAVILY or BANNED from bouts in britain for his conduct in the ring against savarese is crazy.... (i really enjoyed promoter frank warren's recommendation at the end of the article)....

To fine a boxer for his blustery words, no matter how ridiculous, is stupid.
I think Tyson was fined very heavily - far heavier than I expected, in fact. Too bad for him: as I mentioned previously, in this case I would have supported a suspension or, perhaps, even a ban from fighting in the British Isles. I felt that his continued attack - yes, assault - of Savarese both after the bell and around the ref was, of anything he's done thusfar in the ring, the first act qualifying as purely unprovoked, intentional, and unjustifiable.
Frank Warren? Ah, he's a promoter. I have trouble taking any of them seriously.
