<<Apparently you have better things to do with your time than watch Squawk Box cover to cover every day. If you did, you'd know Joe was joking. This kind of thing is a standing joke on CNBC though Joe obviously gets called on the carpet from time to time by management for his clowning around so he, or David, occasionally reminds people he is just joking. He frequently does the same thing with the names of CEO's that are similar to some celebrity's name. Conseco(sp?) is one that comes to mind. >>
Robert,
and perhaps that is a cover for the fact that he really doesn't have a clue?
I have the ATI All-in-wonder graphics card on my PC, so I have a cable TV connection into the back of my PC, and I have TV in a window while I am doing those "better" things.
Most of the time it is just so much background noise, but occasionally I'll flick the window to full screen to see something. Sometimes, I'll post in the evening while paying bills (online pay), surfing a bit, and watching the White Sox win, or the Falcons lose (can't resist!).
<<Do you remember a statement by him that terabit routers would be made unnecessary or obsolete by one of the technologies he was discussing. I've been searching back issues but haven't spotted it yet.>>
No, but he would be wrong if he did say that, IMO. There is a huge market out there for fast routing. And, if those fast routers can handle not only IP, but ATM and TDM based voice traffic, plus fit at both the core and the edge of the Internet, the market is even larger. Who can do that? <g>
Plus, do you really care if terabit routers become obsolete, say 5-7 years from now? I don't, because it's the interim period where MRVC gets it's return on investment, and, with ongoing R&D, MRVC will have other products to fit whichever way the market moves. |
