dli: daytrading on European bourses (when direct access will be more widely available) will further boost up volume.

Right now volumes have declined (as on the NASDAQ), but still Neuer Markt in Frankfurt (where the technology companies are listed) will turn out to be the European NASDAQ with lots of opportunities.

Another speciality is that most German stocks are simultaneously traded on 7 regional exchanges and the Frankfurt stock exchange on the floor, and parallel to this in the electronic XETRA system in Frankfurt. Over the last year more and more orders have been entered and executed using the electronic XETRA. The volume (market share, so to say) of XETRA will further grow. All this will make the German market a very interesting one.....considering that you American guys are bringing your profound experience into this game.

It will take maybe some more months, until volume and direct access will be sufficient. It will be worth playing that market! I´ll keep the thread posted on further development.
