New Mineralized Zone Exposed by Stripping; River Valley
Platinum Group Metal Project Sudbury Mining District,
Ontario

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Initial stripping and sampling
programs carried out along the favourable intrusive contact which
extends southeast from the Dana Lake Zone (main drilling area),
have returned individual sample values as high as 6.9 g/t PGM.
Mineralized magmatic breccias 20m or more in width adjacent to the
basal intrusive contact have been exposed on L18(plus)75S E. The
outcrop exposed was sampled on a 2.5m x 2.5m grid. Samples were
taken with a diamond saw and have dimensions approximately 25cm x
5cm x 5cm.

Additional stripping is continuing to test the I.P. targets, which
extend for an additional 3km to the southeast. The stripping
program is evaluating extensive I.P. (high chargeability)
anomalies which parallel the contact and which mirror those found
associated with platinum group mineralization (PGM) at Dana Lake.

This mineralized area will be a new prime target when drilling
resumes in early September.

These initial results are highly encouraging and provide
significant encouragement for additional stripping and delineation
of drill targets.

The River Valley Project is funded through an agreement with Anglo
American Platinum Corporation Limited ("Amplats"), the world's
largest platinum producer, which can earn a 50% interest in
various PFN properties in the Sudbury area by paying $300,000 for
the option (payment made) and spending $4 million on exploration;
a 60% interest by completing a feasibility study; and 65% by
financing the property through to production. In addition to
funding, Amplats is providing PFN with technical expertise in its
search for Platinum Group Metal deposits. PFN remains operator of
the projects. Amplats has recently increased its budget by 50%.
Exploration expenditures will total $1.5 million on River Valley
and other PFN projects in 2000.
