><>...Good morning Sidney...><>
I used to think the same or almost the same as you....many do, because that is what they are told....but it did not make any sense at all Sidney.!!!
You wrote: If you deny the testimony by the Holy Spirit about Jesus being the Christ you remain unforgiven.
I began to ask ....why would God not forgive a person who now has come to believe... who NOW sees the light...the light of the gospel!!!.....maybe even after not having believed for many years. How many times is a person allowed to say I don't believe? At what age is he not forgiven. Does it matter? None of it made any Godly sense. It was not the God I knew. So I stopped taking the words of others as true, and began to look to God and His most sacred word!!
Jesus told his disciples to forgive your brother 7 times 70 in a day. Why then would God not forgive an unbeliever who finally does come to believe. God puts no # of testimonies as a condition on an unbeliever to finally see the light.!!
That is not God!! No how, No way!!
With all that is being spoken of concerning God even some Christians know not what to believe.! Except they are grounded 100% in God's word!! And even at that some can be deceived. Remember what Christ said about that?
Christ said:..."My sheep know my voice"!!! Not the unbelievers!!
UNFORGIVABVLE?....How many times is a person aloud to not believe a witness? Is he aloud 1x 2x's 5x's 15x's...what are the conditions? What will it take for God to say..Ok forget it No more !! Do you really think that anyone, even after 90 years of unbelief, would be cast aside by God, if they one day opened a Bible and began to see the light, get down on their hands and knees and say ...Dear God I am so sorry that I did not believe before this....but now I do, Oh God I am so sorry, please forgive me. Do you really believe that God is going to say....Sorry pal... you took too long..!!
That's the effect of your explanation of the Unforgivable sin. And it is not God's way. Nor is it even close to what the word of God teaches.
And sidney as to who Christ was speaking :
Luke 12:1 1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. And He continued on until v.13 when then He addressed one in the crowd.
Luke 12:13 13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
But I say this doesn't matter much in that His disciples were always present listening and learning.....He spoke on many occasions to the unbelievers but....to the advantage of his disciples...Always. And I might also add that although of the crowds were not disciples.....they were believers. That is why they followed Him and gathered where ever He spoke. Only the high priests and a few of their plants, continued to try and trap Him, because of their unbelief!
Christ also taught this same thing in Mark 13 and Matthew 24 search it out my friend.
Sidney I say unto you that this unforgivable sin is a much more serious crime against the Holy Spirit than you have been told. Our loving Father is a God of Love, mercy, logic, and righteousness....He would never cast aside anyone... who finally sees the light!!!!No matter how long it takes..!!!! Never!!!
There is a very logical reason for the unforgivable sin being so unforgivable, and the Bible speaks clearly on it.! Study it out for yourself it is written.
John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Consider also the teaching of the labourers in the vineyard that Christ compared to the Kingdom of God. They all got the same reward, even though some did not come until the last hour!
Hard for some to digest...but that is the way of God!! And all the Glory be unto Him!!
Have a restful day my friend Shalom...><> |
