An internet sales force only solution is pretty meaningless for the core of the market. The real value for any sizable organization comes from the integration of business and data process that includes ALL customer interaction points. Let's get into Neal Herman's weak little mind for a second. "I'm a young, relatively second tier analyst at a second tier wire house. I'm desperate for the attention and credibility that Chuck Philips and Rick Sherlund have developed with hard work and the prestige at being at a top firm. (I'll never be in their league though.) Oh MY GOSH!!! I got a private meeting with Oracle management! WOW!!! I'm playing with the big boys now!!! Oooooh, look at all the real data they're feeding me about the market!!!!! Oooh, I'm so proud of myself, that the management at Oracle granted me a private!!! oooh! I want to have another one, so I'll print what they wrote word for word without any customer checks, partner checks or systems integrator due diligence! Gee, whiz, I had an impact!!!! I am SOOOOOO important now." I wonder if Oracle management is just laughing their asses off right now, thinking that that little wannabe did exactly what we wanted. Oracle may gain some share from other players over the next few years, but I bet SEBL doesn't lose any market share. (But it is still an expensive stock and could easily get whacked around by these kinds of entertaining stories.) TD
