Ron, do I really need to dig up the number of homes lost due to fires? The prevention of allowing some cutting of undergrowth in the national forests caused these fires to a great part! I've talked with forest service managers(in NM)who were yelling for the last couple of years about the prohibition against ALL cutting. Some yelled loud enough to bring about the loss of their jobs. Uninformed environmentalists wanted all cutting stopped. They got it because the Clinton administration panders to them - regardless of what really needs to be done. I took some courses in range & forest management & some of my classmates went on into the field. It sucks beyond all description the number of well meaning but stupid environmental activists which are writing policy to the
chagrin of experts with credentials & the destruction of our mountains!
