. . . . . . Trading Range Summer Market. . . . .

. . . Wash & Rinse. . .Back & Fill. . . Up & Down. . .Back & Forth. . .Over & Over. . .Week after Weak. . . . until capitulation is achieved. . . individuals are tired of fighting . . . tired of trading. . . and turn bearish . . . or at least complacent. . .on ever weakening volume. . . like last Sept/October, when individuals were so soaked from the summer wash & rinse that they were unwilling to buy any stock at any price. . . and it seemed there was no low that was low enough to line up the buyers. . . . so by the time the Bull Train left the station, the fewest possible individuals were aboard. [we were]. . . and it now appears that the "plan" for this year is much the same. . .

Today, stocks within the same sector are both up and down. . . there is no leadership. . . and I don't expect any directional moves to be sustained. There is little on the horizon to affect the markets one way or another.

I don't expect a rally after Labor Day, but rather an upward sloping very narrow trading range. . . and lots of. . ."wash & rinse. . .false starts. . . headfakes. . . fools rallies. . . bear traps. . . . . buy the rumors. . .sell the news. . . nothing is sustained. . . .drive those markets. . . say whatever it takes. . . .anything goes. . ."

Perhaps it is time for some of us to take vacations.

Without important sector moves, there can't be significant market moves.

Other than buying the bottoms and dips for long-term holds, I think the best play here for the next 4-5 weeks is to learn the trading patterns of a single stock and simply daytrade its swings. . . buying the bottoms. . .waiting for signs of topping. . .selling, then short-selling the tops. . . waiting for signs of bottoming. . . covering, and buying. . . and just repeat until the trees begin to show their color.
