Thanks for that reassurement.

GV, et al, the main reason the OEMs were "cool" toward the 800 MHz Xeon 1M, 2M cache was that the performance improvement they would realize in their servers, over the 700 MHz Xeon, was only 7% or so. They did not feel that incremental improvement warranted all the extra work in chip qualification, board design, microcode, BIOS, design verification, manufacturing, release process, marketing, etc., etc. The 900 MHz Xeon will yield sufficient performance improvement for the OEM's servers, so that's continuing, to be released Q1, I think is the current schedule.
