I really don't think it's an "if" question anymore -- more of a "when" and "how fast". They are working on a 16Mbit sample chip now (1 of 4). No other nv memory (besides Flash and ROM) has scaled above 1 Mbit.

I do agree that it is still early and that my projections are thus just an "exercise". But the picture should shape up rapidly over the next several months (3-9, IMO).

I do appreciate a conservative approach, though, as there are lots of things that can and will go wrong while implementing a new technology, and people should be aware of this to avoid continuous disappointments.
