Rsurckla, re: Eminian Statement. Article has been edited.
That article appears to have been edited. It now reads:
Bob Eminian, vice president of marketing for Samsung Semiconductor, said he expected Direct RDRAM to comprise about 15% of Samsung's DRAM unit shipments next year -- out of a total 300 million devices shipped by the market.
ebnews.com

So only 15% of Samsungs DRAM will be DRDRAM next year. That seem's like a major change in production plans.
It's a little confusing, but I think he's saying that there will be a total of 300 Million DRDRAM shipped by the industry next year.

He also say's that Samsung DDR shipments will equal Samsung RDRAM shipments.

Eminian estimated DDR will also ramp up in 2001 to about 15% of Samsung's DRAM unit shipments.

Either the other makers will average 15% of their DRAM production as RDRAM, or more likely, DRDRAM will be less than 15% of the market share.
