The Service of Enlightened Self Interest

Religions seem to appeal to people who want the community of other people, and who want to feel chosen and special. The appeal IS the group think, to some extent. I don't see any evidence that people want to revert to pure service (and what EXACTLY is pure service? Are you really talking about enlightened self- interest service, where you work to make the world better (in your opinion of course) because you want the world "better"- that doesn't strike me as pure but alloyed with self- interest)- which seems to be what you are saying, I see evidence that people want to hang out with their own.>>

Try this.
Look up.
Put yourself at the bottom of an inverted pyramid.
Imagine this pyramid is totally unlimited - no top and everything is higher, reaching upward, etc.
There's light and hope and energy when we look higher.
Now imagine looking higher to the left.
Think of someone, somewhere, sometime - family, friend, neighbor or even a total stranger. For there are no limits, restrictions and controls over the who/what/when/where/how and why in this inverted model.
Pyramids of power, control and fear don't exist when you reach out and exercise your timeless, limitless power to do two things:
1) Go into partnership with the upper leg - person, group, etc. - to the left.
2) Embrace and realize the timeless value of service to support this sense of partnership by finding a "third leg" -ie. someone who, if placed together with the original upper left leg partner, would benefit from the skill, information, time and trust shared if the two got together.
3) If you are going to occupy "the least" role in this model you must be sure that you aren't placing yourself
in between the upper left and upper right individuals on some "hidden agenda", etc. - ie. "I'm only going to put you in touch IF "I" get this or that, etc." If there is an agenda then there's an obligation for you to inform the third leg/individual/party.
This is the Service Model. It's open, viral and full of risk. There's no guarantee, no set "lock" and there's a verticality of focus - ie. higher - which is not present in the horizontal "business" or NO model which needs contracts, locks, definitions even to the extreme where there's a total elimination of risk.
How does this model get shared?
By simple example.
By the simple act of people reaching out, connecting, communicating, collaborating and cooperating.
From a distance it may appear as if a person sharing these feelings and ideas is possessed with a "self interest" but when you begin to examine and practice - through act of risk - the simple, vertical/upward dynamics of this model you will understand and feel there's a powerful energy that's unleashed with each exciting moment.
If I was placing myself ABOVE others as if I "knew it all" I'd be just playing the "same ole, same ole" spin/shell/smoke/fire game that we, unfortunately, see too much of.
We all have the power and energy and tools to embrace life and each moment from this upward/higher service perspective.
If you do this, just be prepared to take a lot of flack for the vast majority of people in this world will test, try and question this approach to life and living.
There's a lie which is being exposed right now.
We don't have to live in fear and the regulation of risk/freedom is not the answer.
For the religion of NO and the world of GO are diametrically opposed to one another.
