I look to Cisco to make a big push into the optical networking area, possibly into or towards JDSU's market

Let me try to change your opinion by describing the basic difference between what JDSU does and what CSCO does:

JDSU builds optical components--not optical systems. Their end products are useless until built into an integrated systems. NT and other JDSU customers buy components from JDSU and others, integrate those components into a system, then sell to the end user.

CSCO builds systems--not components. CSCO's end products are ready for use out of the box. CSCO buys components from suppliers and integrates those components into a system then sells to an end user.

IMO, CSCO may become a major customer of JDSU, but not a competitor.
