†...Hi Sydney...†
I don't believe that I have misunderstood what you had proposed in your explanation. I have heard it before. I was told it before!! It didn't make any sense then and it doesn't make any sense now! You said: If you deny the testimony by the Holy Spirit about Jesus being the Christ you remain unforgiven.
Unforgiven for what?....For sins unrepented of?...Then of course. So tell me Sid, how is an unbeliever to discern the difference between what the Holy Spirit is witnessing to him ....and what another human being is witnessing to him of Jesus.
If it truly is the Holy Spirit doing the witnessing then there is no question that the one being witnessed to will believe!!
You also wrote: If they reject the testimony of Jesus by the Holy Spirit that they had seen with their own eyes, there can be no forgiveness for them.
Please elaborate on the above.
Again suppose you knew of a person or many people whom you or some ones else has witnessed to, that just flat out refused to believe, that Jesus was the Christ.....now suppose further that they had been witnessed to many times before and many times after, and still refused to believe. Then one day when they were very old just suddenly saw the Light!!!....And now they believe.! They now become a mighty servant of God.....but ahhh, too late, they had really,(as you say).... closed the door themselves,(some years ago, when they refused to listen).... and they don't even know it.! All they know is that they now believe and have repented...so off they go bringing the gospel of Christ to all who will listen...!!! But ahhh what a fate it's of no use to God..!!
Could that be you Sidney, or me, or our other brothers? Could it be mighty men of the Gospel of Christ such as Bill Grham or Charles Spurgeon, or Charles Stanley, Or any one of the thousands of evangelists and preachers.? Pick one Sidney, anyone you know who now preaches the gospel of Christ and Him crucified, and wonder how many times they refused to believe when they first heard.
Sidney what you say just does not make any sense...Common or other wise. It just does not add up. It id not in sync with the scriptures at all!! And it certainly is not the way of God! This is a very vague,confusing...open-ended yet extremely conditional explanation....Conditional... without even fully knowing the conditions, there is no way to know them...they are not written!....And it does not explain what Christ went on to say in Luke 12
Luke 12:10-12 10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven. 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12 For the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. What synagogues, what powers, what magistrates.....answer to who, for what?
the Holy Spirit will teach you what ye ought to say.!!!! Not what ye ought to believe!!!
And again in:
Mark 13:8-11 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. 9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. 10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit What councils, what rulers what Kings? Why a testimony against them.? Who are They Sidney? And how will the gospel first be published!!
Don't you see it Sidney This happens just before the return of Christ, immediately prior!!! Jesus is preparing them for what will come.!!
OK, enough from me for now.
Though I will tell you this Sidney,... for the sake of Christ my Lord I will search this out again, and take into consideration all that you have proposed.
Have a most blessed day Shalom...><> |
