Tito,
Allen Greenspan used the term "irrational exhuberance".
While I'd like nothing better than to see AMAT at $100+
I just don't see it happening. The stock has only breached
over $100 once and that was when the semis were king.
Even though the backlog is over $1B you must understand
that that will stretch out into AMATs' '98 fiscal year which
starts in November. Most fabs that place orders now will
likely not get their equipment until 1st/2nd qtr '98 due to
manufacturing constraints. A likely scenario is that AMAT
will be about $80-$85 in the August time frame (3rd qtr
ends in late July. With any luck I am wrong and you are
right but the summer doldrums will likely settle in during
mid-late June until the 4th week of July then the stock will
rise on anticipation of 3rd qtr results.

Happy investing
