Nigel and Tuck. I too was 'surprised' (quotes = understatement) at the tone of John's post. I PMed him early this morning indicating this hoping I would receive an explanation promptly. As this has not been the case, and as indicated in the PM to John, I now share that message with you: --------------- John - Regarding your post, 'Scott ....<< I'm trying to prepare a well balanced presentation (still extremely shallow) on the current state of AD pharmacology. << Not a fuckin chance ... John McCarthy. The somewhat un-subtle tone of your comment suggests you have an issue or grievance with me. If so I am unaware of the nature of the problem; I would be grateful to be informed of my crime. I can't imagine what I've done to generate such a reprimanding tone and the use such vile language. I can't imagine you've used this approach often on SI or you wouldn't have lasted 3 years. I know you tend to be abrasive. Big deal. But, 'Not a fuckin' chance'? What the hell is that? I'm not sure of the ingredients sufficient for either a reprimand (or worse) on SI but your post has got to be pushing the limit. Needless to say I wouldn't have attempted a review of AD if I didn't have the experience and background necessary for such an undertaking. There are other, supposedly knowledgeable, biotechies on SI whose posts regarding neuroscience are pathetic. I’m amazed you used gutter talk towards me and treat countless other ignorant neuroscience-related posts with kid gloves. I suspect you don’t have the background to tell the difference. I do. And the issue of whether this remains a private message is completely up in the air at the moment. I hope we can resolve this amicably so that, in the future, I can anticipate constructive criticism from you. Best wishes, Scott ------------
