JLA, I think Rambi had something a little different in mind, when she used the term "third party posts."
As I understand it, the term refers to a "private" conversation, conducted on a public thread, about a third party. In other words, Joe, Bill, and Mary (sorry X, but some females do this, too) post a series of giggly little messages to each other about what a dork Annie is. They do not post directly to Annie, who can't really respond to these "privately" made remarks, even though she is right there. It's sort of like a gaggle of popular high-schoolers sniggering among themselves at the Class Dweeb, loud enough for said Dweeb to hear (and be mortified by). |
