I think I defined it when I said it is people talking negatively ABOUT someone rather than to them, trying to put them down, insult them, things like that, but indirectly, intentionally, and repetitively. It has no purpose but to be nasty. It isn't discussion or argument or debate; it very definitely isn't intelligent commentary on an opinion, it's an attack on a person. It's done to hurt or anger another.
I think it's harmful in a lot of ways.
Which isn't to say we haven't all done it once or twice, but this had gone on all day and was getting worse.
I don't really want to get into a discussion about it, and for sure not a disagreement with you or anyone else; it's my opinion of what was happening, it's a pet peeve of mine, and that's why I said something. To further discuss it, unless directly with the parties, would just make me guilty of it, so that's it for me.
