Humans rely more and more on our technology as opposed to natural selection for our health. Populations world wide explode. Environmental degradation and potential new diseases are all threats. The potential for nuclear disaster although getting less press these days is still present. Even natural disasters such as that which destroyed the dinosaurs could wipe us out. Perhaps the empire of the mammals will have run it's course in a few hundred or thousand or million years. Maybe it's time for the insects or microbes. The possibilities are as varied as ones imagination.
