Hi Dan S. and Carl,

I can't speak for the rest of the Mom & Pops around here but your comments and postings on this eDRAM SRAM replacement stuff is causing my feathers to fall out.

I am looking at this as THE next big thing in memory now. Cypress appears to be very well positioned in this growing market as far as big suppliers go. I am considering betting another farm. :8)

But what I find excruciatingly funny about all this is that INTC is a very heavy user and maker of Bad Old expensive, low density SRAM. And RMBS is,... well among other things, its IP claims against SDRAM/DDR have got to be a HUGE push on both the Fabs and OEMS to get off their duffs and find ever more uses for this Fast SRAM replacement technology.

Its all a question of platform creation. If MU is working on an interface for AMD, and all these start ups are spinning out MPU's for the stuff that make INTC's meager 10Gb/s effort look anemic, that platform can't be far away. If INTC can't grasp the significance of this they should have their collective nose shoved out of the standard setting business.

I reject that possibility, they can't be that dumb. I suspect that this is really the reason they've pushed DRDRAM. I think they MUST have assumed that the DRDRAM "gabillion bank core" would somehow give them a better angle on an embedded product in which those hydra headed banks could be direct wired into the CPU.

...But then again, I have to find a way to explain their LATENTcy ignorance. ...Oh well, if its not one thing its another. :8) I will just have to console myself with the knowledge that for every eDRAM chip shipped its one step closer to a RAMBus Free World!

'Aint competition wonderful? Lord I love this country. :8)
