REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 2000--Advanced Digital Information Corporation (Nasdaq:ADIC - news) announced today the launch of an
entire line of new automated tape library products based on LTO Ultrium technology from IBM, the first market entrant for the next-generation advanced tape
technology.
Using LTO technology, the new ADIC product line, brings high performance storage technology to the open systems reseller channel in the industry's most complete
line of automated storage products. These include standalone tape drives, autoloaders, mid-range libraries, data center systems, and large, enterprise-class tape
storage systems. The new family of automated storage products is designed to meet the rapidly increasing requirements for data protection and retrieval, driven by
the Internet, e-commerce, the consolidation of storage, and the rise of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) architectures.

automated storage products easily and quickly, and that a complete family of automation products would be available through multiple channels as soon as the drive

With 200GB of capacity per tape and 30 MB/second transfer rate per drive, LTO Ultrium technology is the first tape technology to deliver premium levels of
capacity and performance to the entire range of storage applications, including backup for the rapidly growing client-server market space. ADIC's line of LTO
Ultrium tape storage products includes the FastStor autoloader, the Scalar 100 mid-range library, and the Scalar 1000 data center tape storage systems. LTO
Ultrium technology will also be available in the ADIC AML mixed media storage libraries, where it creates the industry's largest capacity tape libraries and where the
new technology can be mixed with other tape and optical drives.
