Read-Rite Qualifies on Western Digital's 7200 RPM, 20 GB per Platter Hard Disk Drive Program

FREMONT, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Read-Rite Corporation RDRT today announced it is qualified and has begun shipping its 20 GB per 3.5" platter GMR heads for Western Digital's Caviar 7200 RPM disk drives. Western Digital's new leading edge drive is a two-platter design with as many as four heads and has capacities of 10, 20, 30 and 40 GB.
