But every conclusions limits freedom. Enquiry is limited when a conclusion has been accepted and sometimes you will make a conclusion that is wrong- it's simply a matter of percentages. You can't know whether conclusions regarding deities or a deity are correct (or conclusions regarding a lack of a deities or deity)- so why not continue unfettered by choices which can only be (logically) faith- because those choices don't have a high degree of certainty. So I don't see any reason why a belief in God would be fundamental to free enquiry. I suppose one answer as to WHY people do choose belief is they don't like uncertainty, and they don't want to live with it- that's fine, I suppose- but it's not as if it's a very logical reason for a choice based on uncertain facts.
