OnLine Production Services & Black Talent News Launch BTN Online Talent Directory
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23, 2000 /PRNewswire/ -- OnLine Production Services, Inc. (OnLine) (OTC Bulletin Board: ONPS - news) has signed an agreement with Black Talent News -- the industry's leading Black entertainment trade publication -- to provide a searchable Black Talent database called The BTN OnLine Directory. The announcement was made today by OnLine president Aerock Fox.
Founded in 1995, OnLine released its first software product: the Casting Workbook (www.castingworkbook.com). Its advanced design quickly made it the preeminent online breakdown and communication package in the film and television industry. Today, the Casting Workbook is known as the busiest Internet casting service boasting up to 65,000 agency portfolios, over 400 feature film, television and commercial breakdowns and 2000 roles cast electronically each month.
Black Talent News (www.blacktalentnews.com), dubbed ``The Voice of Black Hollywood,'' is the only Black entertainment industry trade publication. With a readership of more than 20,000 (including industry professionals and the general public), Black Talent News is sold on over 300 newsstands in the Los Angeles area as well as select outlets in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, Washington DC, San Francisco, Oakland and San Diego.
``The design and architecture of the BTN OnLine Talent Directory, based upon the backbone of the Casting Workbook, will incorporate actors, writers, models, dancers, directors, producers, musicians and production personnel. Breakdowns and casting notices will be posted daily in addition to production, development and other entertainment-related jobs. The BTN OnLine Talent Directory will be a 'one stop' resource for Black talent in North America,'' says OnLine's Los Angeles Manager, Bonnie Abaunza.
``Black Talent News and OnLine recognized the critical need for providing access to an underrepresented community in the entertainment business, particularly as the industry responds to challenges to increase minority representation in television and film for on-screen and behind-the-camera talent,'' says Tanya Kersey-Henley, publisher and editor-in-chief of Black Talent News.
The BTN OnLine Talent Directory will also feature personalized web-pages for Black talent, which can be accessed by over 300 casting directors and producers internationally. Each talent web page will include an 8x10 photo and resume or profile. Directors will post their reels and writers will post their scripts and/or treatments. Production personnel can post their resumes.
Other services currently available include from OnLine include Talent Scout (www.thetalentscout.net), Model Scout (www.themodelscout.com) and Commercial Production Software (www.productionworkbook.com).
Besides Los Angeles, the OnLine currently has offices in Vancouver and Toronto, with plans for additional U.S. locations and worldwide offices.
OnLine is publicly traded on the OTC: BB trading symbol (ONPS).
